Arbil / Nina / The national campaign to combat violence against women started on Monday 25, Nov in Arbil, north of Iraq in the presence of KRG President Nechirvan Barzani.
Barzani, in his opening speech, condemned "the violence against women," stressing" the need to organize awareness sessions to the security forces' employees on women and violence against them."
He pointed to "the importance of opening space for competent women and women with expertise to be involved in the state and government positions as well as the decision-making ," calling on all parties in the community to work together to ensure the success of this matter , and to stop violence against women once and for all . "
The conference will discuss the causes and impediments to implement the law on women's rights and ways to address them.. / End
