Belarus Seeks Closer Ties with Iraq

The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, has said there is a need to intensify trade and economic relations with Turkey and Iraq.
According to a report from BelTA, he said Iraq is showing an increasing interest in Belarus, receiving more and more cooperation proposals from Iraqi businessmen and politicians.
Addressing Andrei Savinykh, who has been appointed head of the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Turkey and Iraq, the Belarusian leader emphasized that Iraq “should not be considered a secondary activity”.
