Iraq receives Russian cannons and armored vehicles through the southern ports

Shafaq News / A source in the Iraqi ports revealed on Saturday , the arrival of cannons and armored vehicles from Russia to Basra province.
“Since Thursday and till Friday , Basra ports have received cannons and armored vehicles from Russia within the arms deal concluded between the two countries to equip the Iraqi army with arms,” the source who asked for anonymity told “Shafaq News”.
The source didn’t give any information or further details.
According to press reports , the United States handed over Iraq , missiles and drones to assist the Iraqi security forces to fight al-Qaeda .
This comes at a time where combat troops backed by air support have launched a major military operation in the desert areas of Anbar, an extension of the borders of Syria and Jordan against the strongholds of the organization after the death of a number of military commanders.
Anbar province is experiencing political and security situations on the background of the Iraqi forces’ implementation from an expanded military campaign to hunt down al -Qaeda fighters in the deserts that was followed by the arrest of MP Ahmed al-Alwani in Anbar and by lifting the tents of the protesters over a year ago
