Talabani, China’s Ambassador discuss means to consolidate cooperation

Baghdad (NINA) – President Jalal Talabani discussed with China’s Ambassador to Iraq, Chang Ye) means to consolidate bilateral cooperation.
*****A statement issued on Sunday, Aug. 21, by the President’s Office quoted Talabani saying during the meeting, “Iraq and China have common interests and future outlook makes them seek stronger relations.”*****
He added, “There is an Iraqi consensus on improving the relations with China to include all fields.” Pointing out that the recent visit to China by Prime Minister, *****Nuri al-Maliki, expressed both countries’ desire to establish strategic relations and encourage Chinese investment in Iraq.*****
For his part, China’s Ambassador expressed his country’s continuing support to Iraq’s political process, pointing out the importance of continuing mutual cooperation and coordination. / End.
