"SADDAM’S POLITICS WERE EVIL, BUT HE WAS A GOOD CUSTOMER TO ME.”
Recep Cesur, Saddam's tailor, originally from Amed, does not deny the brutality of Saddam's actions and expresses his pride of being a Kurd.
But, tailoring for Saddam was nothing except a commercial relation for him, the tailor states to Slate website, "Saddam’s politics were evil, but he was a good customer to me.”
During his reign, Saddam bought 220 suits from Cesur’s Baghdad outlet and Saddam's outfit in his court appearance in 2004 was tailored by Cesur.
On Saddam’s measurements for the suits, Cesur says, “His shoes was 11.6, his trousers 54, and his jacket 56.”
It is worth mentioning that Saddam Hussain is not the only high profile client of Cesur's business but former Pakistani President Parwez Musharraf, and Afghan President Hamid Karzai with so many others.
Cesur has customers from all over the world, and his suits are exported to three continents.
The tailor showed his desire to tailor a suit for Nicholas Sarkozy as he thinks Sarkozy is very fashionable.
