Establishing local Airports will contribute in creating major economic cities in Iraq

The head of the Economic Studies at the University of Kufa , an economist Raad Twayg that "constructing airports in some governorates will contribute in establishing real economic transformation of these governorates to economically productive governorates.
He told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / that "establishing a domestic airports should reflect the need for Iraq 's overall air transport and a fair distribution among the provinces."
He suggested that the construction of airports should be on the basis of economic relations between the provinces and on the basis of partnership and mutual benefit , competition and precedence which will reduce trade disputes."
He added that these local airports will contribute to reduce transport costs and shorten the time.
The Ministry of Transport has announced earlier its intention to construct domestic airports in most provinces.
