Baghdad (NINA) – President Jalal Talabani discussed with the Special Representative of the SG for Iraq (SRSG), Ad Melkert, the works of the UN Mission in Iraq.
*****A statement issued on Tuesday, Aug. 23, by the President’s Office said that Talabani received Melkert on the end of his task in Iraq; Talabani expressed, “Deep appreciation to the international organization for the support it has provided to Iraq through its special mission in Iraq.”*****
For his part, Melkert thanked Talabani for his support he received during his work in Iraq, pointing out that if it was not for the President’s support success could not have been achieved.*****
