The economic crisis in the Kurdistan region is likely to continue until the end of 2014 because the Iraqi Kurdistan's budget and Iraq's budget have not been approved yet

ERBIL-Hewlêr, Kurdistan region 'Iraq',— Kurdistan has experienced an economic crisis for the past seven months and has hampered civic assistance and livelihood.
Economic experts believe that solving the economic crises of Kurdistan region should be the top priority of the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Eighth Cabinet.
The Kurdistan Parliament has responded to the crisis by confirming that they plan to discuss the economic instability of the KRG as well as delays in salary on Monday.
The economic crisis in the Kurdistan region has negatively affected the running of the everyday life of the citizens and there have been hundreds of demonstrations and protests all over the region.
Most notably Erbil [Hewlêr], Slêmanî, and Duhok have had an unprecedented number of protests over delays in salary and a lack of services.
Investors have suggested that Iraqi Kurdistan could face economic bankruptcy if the KRG does not come up with a resolution.
It was at the behest of some of the parliamentarians', that the economic crisis and delays in salary must be discussed by the Kurdistan Parliament Monday.
Investors and executives in the Kurdistan region have different views on the economic crisis. Some businessmen have stated that Iraqi Kurdistan is under a difficult economic situationwww.Ekurd.net and this misunderstanding can bring more harm to Kurdistan's economy. They also insist that the KRG build an economic strategy to guarantee economic stability in the Kurdistan region.

The disagreements between the KRG and Iraq's Central Government will not be solved soon since forming the new Iraqi government may take a year due to the disagreements among the political parties over the distribution of the ministerial and presidential posts. This is because no party obtained a majority in the last election.
