Baghdad (NINA) – *****President Jalal Talabani received the credential of the new Ambassadors of Afghanistan, Mohammed Anwar Anorzi, Pakistan, Shah Jamal, Netherlands, Urn Rotenberg, and Australia, Lindal Jean Sajes.*****
A statement issued on Tuesday Aug. 23, by the President’s Office said,***** “Talabani stressed the importance to establish strong relations with Afghanistan and expand bilateral cooperation, especially in combating terrorism.”*****
For his part, the new Ambassador of Afghanistan extended an invitation t on behalf of President Hamid Karzai to President Talabani to visit Afghanistan; expressing his country’s desire to consolidate its relations with Iraq.
President Talabani thanked President Karzai for the invitation promising to fulfill it as soon as possible.
During the ceremony of receiving the credential of Pakistan’s new Ambassador to Iraq, Shah Jamal, President Talabani pointed out to the importance of expanding the Iraq-Pakistan relations and develop them in the interests of both countries’ people.
When receiving the credential of the new Ambassador of the Netherlands, President Talabani expressed support to develop the relations between Iraq and the Netherlands.
For his part, Ambassador Rodenberg conveyed the regards of Queen Beatrix to President Talabani.
When receiving the credentials of Australia’s new Ambassador, President Talabani expressed gratitude to Australia for the help it provided in Iraq’s reconstruction scheme.
For her part, the new Australian Ambassador asserted that she will work toward expanding the relations between Iraq and Australia to include the health sector and help Iraq reconstruction program and combating terrorism.
