Kurdish Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani is expected to reveal the income of the Kurdistan Region’s oil later this week.
The official website of Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) announced that Barzani will meet with the leadership of Kurdistan Region Parliament and the head of Kurdish political parties to explain the process of exporting and selling Kurdish oil as well as revealing the income.
The head of KDP list Omed Khoshnaw in the Kurdistan Parliament told KDP official website that: “regarding the process of exporting and selling Kurdistan Region’s oil, Barzani has asked to meet Kurdistan Parliament leadership and Kurdish political parties in the parliament within the next week.”
“The meeting will be about revealing the income of the Kurdistan Region’s oil that has been exported to Europe via Ceyhan port in Turkey,” said Khoshnaw.
On May 28, Barzani gave an explanation about the financial crisis in the Kurdistan Region as well as oil exporting in which he stated: “It is with confidence that I tell you that we have started exporting oil and we believe we will reach a milestone at the end of the year, at which time we will be able to export up to 500,000 barrels per day.”
