Security Council urges Baghdad and Erbil to reach an agreement on oil exports

Khandan - urged the UN Security Council in Baghdad and Erbil to reach an agreement on all outstanding issues including energy exports and revenue sharing in line with Iraq's international obligations.
This came one day after the briefing of the Council by the UN special envoy to Iraq Nikolay Mladenov, on the situation in Iraq.
He called on the President of the Russian ambassador to the UN, Vitaly Churkin, said in a statement, all political entities to work together in an inclusive political process in a timely manner designed to promote national unity, sovereignty and independence of Iraq.
Churkin urged Iraqi leaders to work together to form a government that represents the will and sovereignty of the Iraqi people and Iraq was able to address the challenges faced by its democratic institutions and cooperation with the international community.
And about the terrorist attacks in Iraq, the Council stressed that violence and terrorism can reflect the path of peace, democracy and reconstruction of Iraq.
