The White House calls on al-Maliki to step down and respect the constitutional process Print Save

Washington / NINA/ The United States called on Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to step down and make way for the assigned Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, the formation of the next government.
The U.S. National Security Adviser, James Rhodes said in a press statement, that al-Maliki must respected process and this is not imposed by any one from the outside, but this is decided by the Iraqis themselves.
He added that the White House will be very happy to see a new government.
Rhodes said that the Iraqis have not worked together in the past years the sunni has not been taken into account sufficiently and this is what led to the loss of confidence in some areas of Iraq and within the security forces.
Rhodes noted that the U.S. Administration is considering the available options to provide help, including the "safe passage and air transport for Iraqis caught up" to provide humanitarian aid to civilians trapped in the Sinjar Mount.
Rhodes ruled out the use of American forces for the purpose of fighting, but pointed out that the forces may play a role in the field of humanitarian relief. /End [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
