Oil Minister stresses the development and expansion of the oil cooperation with Egypt

Oil Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, Tuesday, the importance of the development and expansion of mutual cooperation in field of oil with Egypt and sharing experiences and increasing investment opportunities between the two countries, stressing that the Ministry welcomes the Egyptian companies to invest and develop the oil and gas sector.
Abdul-Mahdi said in a statement to the Ministry of oil on the sidelines of his meeting with the Egyptian Ambassador in Baghdad, Ahmed Darwish, received "alsumaria news", a copy of it, "the Iraqi Government pays tribute to the historical relations with our brothers in Egypt and the major role they play in strengthening joint Arab solidarity in the face of the current challenges", stressing "the importance of the development and expansion of mutual cooperation in the oil field, as well as sharing experiences and increasing investment opportunities between the two countries."
Abdul-Mahdi said that "the Ministry welcomes Egyptian firms specialized in Iraq for participation, employment and investment in the rehabilitation and development of the oil and gas sector".
For his part, the Egyptian Ambassador in Baghdad, expressed "its appreciation for the role played by the Ministry in the promotion and development of economic relations between the two countries by giving companies opportunities to compete for specialized projects in this vital sector," pointing out that "Egyptian companies have the expertise and technology necessary to do so."
Dervis said the "presence of several Egyptian oil companies specialized, now operating in Iraq, and we seek to expand cooperation with our brothers in Iraq."
The oil Ministry announced (15 October 2014) signed a consultant to develop the conditions of health, safety and environment in the refineries with an Egyptian company, noting that the contract worth about $ 2.5 million will provide training and development opportunities for workers in the oil industry in line with international regulations in this area.
