Make the Islamic State Pay
Tuesday, January 6th, 2015
United States military forces are bombing the Islamic State (ISIS) out of business. This is a big change from a year ago when ISIS went on a blitzkrieg attack, causing panic in the Iraqi Army and throwing the Kurdish forces into a strategic retreat.
However, over the past few months ISIS has been losing.
Death from Above: ISIS oil refinery
The Economist has estimated that ISIS was able to fund itself from from its sale of oil smuggled to Turkey. That money is drying up.
ISIS is past the high-water mark. The Islamo-terriosts are losing the money game and the war. They havn't won a battle in over two months. New recruits have fallen 80%. And people who live under its evil governance are no longer supportive.
Recently the defense minister of Iraq said, “The day Mosul is re-taken by the Iraqi army will be the last day of the Islamic State.” And it is coming...
Kurds Win
At the same time the Kurds of Northern Iraq are celebrating their victories including the recapturing of Shingal. And they have support. The Czech government delivered 5,000 anti-tank missiles, 10 million rounds of ammunition for Kalashnikov assault rifles, eight million rounds for machine guns, 5,000 for rocket-propelled grenades and 5,000 hand grenades for Kurdish fighters.
As ISIS loses Iraq grows stronger. Two days ago it was announced that Iraq is now pumping more oil than at any time since 1980 and the Kurdistan Regional Government is rushing to expand the capacity of its oil refineries.
Things are moving fast. ISIS is on its heels. One Kurdish oil company just anounced that it is doubling capacity.
But get this, due to the troubles in the region, investors got scared off. It is now so undervalued it just might be cheapest hydrocarbon company on earth.
