Venezuela says OPEC split preclude a meeting to discuss the fall in oil prices

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said Tuesday that the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries "OPEC" is divided on dealing with the fall in oil prices and there is no intention to hold an emergency meeting in the coming weeks.
The Maduro tour of the OPEC countries so far included Saudi Arabia and Iran, where, according to reports he called for closer cooperation to support oil prices.
But the Venezuelan president said in Algeria before his meeting with Prime Minister Abdelmalek baskets that OPEC will not meet in the coming weeks to the lack of consensus among member states.
OPEC is scheduled to hold its next meeting in June.
