2 billion dollars allocated for low-cost housing units

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: The Iraqi Minister of Reconstruction and Housing announced today that the Iraqi government has allocated two billion dollars to build low cost housing units for limited income families.
Minister Mohammed Al-Daraji said , in a press conference with government spokesman Ali Al-Dabbagh, attended by Aswat al-Iraq, that " the Iraqi government allocated two billion dollars to build low cost housing units for limited income families."
He added that the project shall be initiated in 2012, provided that the Cabinet will determine the distribution mechanism.
Daraji disclosed that "the country need two million housing units, which necessitates increasing the ministry's budget, and encouraging local and foreign investments."
