Said in a parliamentary finance committee member Abdul Qader Mohammed that "the United States has agreed to a request for Iraq to postpone payments for decades arming within concluded deals between the two countries for a whole year."
He said Mohammed told all of Iraq [where] that "all contracts concluded with Washington is possible to postpone the payment of dues until the breakthrough of the financial crisis."
He pointed out that "these contracts are for the Ministry of Defence because it has a large contracts and spoke with US Ambassador to Iraq [Stuart Jones] to defer these payments and they accepted it," noting that "the agreement is tentative."
He noted a member of the Finance Committee to "transfers these funds allocations of these contracts to offset the popular crowd and displaced people," noting that "the amounts estimated at $ 3.5 to $ 4 billion."
Iraq and the United States had concluded contracts armament, including the purchase of 36 F-16 fighter aircraft and the purchase of five thousand missiles of the type of type [Hellfire] anti-armor and tanks in a deal that is the largest in the sale of such missiles worth $ 700 million.
