Shaways discusses with the US ambassador in Iraq, bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them

BAGHDAD / NINA / Deputy Prime Minister Ruz Nuri Shaways discussed on Wednesday with the US ambassador in Iraq Stewart Jones and his accompanying delegation, the relations between Iraq and the United States and ways of enhancing them.
A statement by his office today said that Shaways received the US ambassador, and discussed during the meeting, the security situation in Iraq and developments in the war on the IS and terrorist groups, and Shaways confirmed that Iraq is going on to liberate the areas occupied by the IS and defeat them and that the international coalition efforts supporting the Iraqi forces, including the Peshmerga forces and popular crowd in order to remove this threat on Iraq and the region and the security of the world.
The statement added that the two sides also discussed the importance of starting to restore services and the reconstruction of the liberated areas and facilitate the return of the residents of these areas to their homes and their land after its liberation from the control of terrorism and the destruction the IS gangs left.
