The Ministry of Electricity, Sunday, she will receive the first 15 sites to generate energy from the rays of the sun and wind the end of this year, and as pointed out that its plan to reach potential sites in the second phase of the project at the end of 2016, the equivalent of 400 MW, confirmed that these sites will be distributed the areas that have the political and economic importance and commercial. A ministry statement issued today, and received "Alsumaria News", a copy of which, "The renewable energy center in the Ministry of Electricity started executing the plan developed by the Ministry through a specialized technical committee in this area, after a geographical survey of all provinces in the country to choose suitable sites to set up a number of power plants, using solar energy and wind. " The statement added that "the Committee chose 15 sites as a first stage, distributed among eight provinces, including 10 locations for stations joint solar and wind, and 5 sites Solar individually," noting that "the provinces that have been selected are Baghdad , Anbar, Najaf, Muthanna, Dhi Qar, Basra, Maysan, and Wasit. " The statement said that "the energy produced from these sites is hoped to reach from 50 to 55 MW," noting that "the ministry is planning to these energies up in the second phase of the project, the end of 2016 to the
equivalent of 400 MW."
The statement continued that "the objective of this project is to fill a real need for electrical power to areas of national network not reached yet the distance from the power transmission lines," noting that "the ministry aims to build an angel and a national specialist in the field of electric power, as well as the preservation of the environment Iraqi pollution as a result of the emission of fumes and residues from plants generating steam and gas. "
He stressed the ministry statement that "these sites, which will be distributed to towns and districts and areas of border, which has political importance and economic and trade", noting that "the sites are Waleed crossing and Trebil in Anbar province, and Salman in Muthanna province, and Nikhaib in the city of Karbala, and Shalamcheh in Basra province, and the network in the province of Najaf, and Bazargan in Maysan province, and Iskenderun and Rahmaniyah in Wasit province. "
He pointed to the ministry's statement that "its systems will be subject to evaluation as fields pilot to see the energy produced quantities and the possibility of expansion, as well as knowledge of meteorology through advanced communications systems will accompany the work of these units."
The Ministry of Science and Technology announced in May, 2011, that Iraq has the ability and the potential for the use of renewable energy in spite of the challenges faced in this area, with the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy, said that the use of renewable energies expensive investment compared to the sums run.
It is noteworthy that most of the world agreed to reduce the carbon generated from the use of carbohydrates materials in the coming years dioxide production, so as to avoid the major threats of climate and air pollution to change due to global warming, and the trend towards the use of renewable energy from wind, water and sun.
