Obama sent a bill to the Congress authorizing him to use military force against the ISIS
Thursday, 12 February, 2015
Washington / NINA / US President Barack Obama sent on Wednesday a bill to the Congress authorizing him to use military force against the ISIS organization.
Obama warned in a letter sent with the proposed legislation from leaving the ISIS organization unchecked and said that the organization “is a threat outside the Middle East, including the United States of America.”
Obama legislation limits the use of “ground troops in offensive operations,” but it provides the necessary flexibility in the use of these forces in the “other limited circumstances, such as rescue operations for kidnapped American or members of the coalition forces.”
The legislation authorizing “the use of US troops to gather intelligence operations, and assist in the implementation of tasks enables air raids or to provide military advice and assistance to the coalition forces.”
The Legislation also limits the use of military force against the ISIS for three years, but in the event of congressional approval of the extension of this period.
