Minister of Finance Meets The Governor of Basra

BAGHDAD / NINA / The governor of Basra, Majed al-Nasraoui discussed with the Finance Minister, Hoshyar Zebari, the financial allocations for the province within the 2015 budget, and the need to clarify the level of development of the reality of Basra in economic and service sectors.
Al-Nasraoui, during the meeting that took place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Finance, according to a statement of his press office, confirmed the need to expand the powers of local government to develop the service and investment sides in the province, in preparation for implementation of the service plan within the budget of this year.
He added: “The Ministry of Finance has agreed to grant Basra a part of its budget for 2015, in addition to discussing of the economic body in the Council of Ministers at its next meeting, the inclusion of some of the projects of the province plan for the current year with exception of austerity.” adding:” Iraq is going through a severe financial crisis and faces a real problem even in pay salaries of its employees. ”
He added that: “After the claim in the coordination meeting of the Council of Ministers and Governors held in Karbala, and telling the prime minister that Basra is threatened with dire consequences as a result of dissatisfaction of the citizens, where the province do not have funds for the purchase of fuel as well as staff salaries and contractors with the Office of the province..
