Adviser to Barzani's office: economic independence for the region will benefit Erbil and Baghdad

Mahmoud said in an interview with Alsumaria News , that "if Baghdad failed to apply what you have agreed with the Kurdistan because of political pressure from influential blocks, the region will have the other option, which protects the financial and economic security," noting that "Kurdistan is capable of self-reliance, financially and economically."
Mahmoud said that "the self-sufficiency and reliance on and development of the Kurdistan resources, both in the energy, agriculture, tourism or industry will contribute to solving most of the problems with Baghdad," noting that "the economic and financial independence for Kurdistan will be beneficial to Baghdad and Erbil." It is said that Barzani met, in (13 May 2015), with the House of Representatives and Minister of the Kurds, and confirmed final statement of the Government's commitment to meeting the region's oil Convention with Baghdad and continuing to address the problems through dialogue, at the same time threatened to take "other means" if the government's insistence on the center positions.
