Independent Electoral Commission said it had not received any official letter on the determination of the 20th of next August as the date for holding the presidency of the Kurdistan region elections.
The head of the Board of Commissioners Serbest Mustafa's (IMN) "The Federal Election Commission reviewed the presidency of the Kurdistan region to identify elections through the media," adding that "nothing formal has not received by the Commission."
Mustafa said that "the request to hold the presidency of the Kurdistan region elections addressed to the provincial elections, the newly formed Commission",
noting that "the supposed any electoral process get in Iraq or any decision issued on an electoral process or pass a law for the elections should be in coordination with the Independent Electoral Commission for the elections. "
The President of the Kurdistan region yesterday to determine the 20th of next August as the date for holding the elections for the presidency of the region
and which was officially elected in 2005 president of the province after the enactment of the elections, and in 2009 president of the province after receiving 70% of the vote.
