Abadi Meets US Assistant Secretary Of State

BAGHDAD / NINA / Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi discussed with US Assistant Secretary of State, train and equip the Iraqi armed forces to confront criminal gangs.
A statement for the prime minister’s office said “al-Abadi received, yesterday evening, Brett McGurk, the US Assistant Secretary of State, and discussed with him the victories achieved against Daash, training and arming the Iraqi armed forces, the return of displaced and the economic challenges facing the country as well as the developments in the political and security situation in Iraq and the region.”
For his part, McGurk appreciated the Iraqi government’s efforts to bring back displaced people in Salahuddin province and the rest of the cities and reconstructing the liberated areas and the continuation of the international support for the Iraqi government and its security forces in the war against the terrorist gangs of Daash.
