An Explosion Halts Iranian Gas Exports To Turkey

Iranian gas exports to Turkey halted due to an explosion on Monday in the carrier pipe.
The Director General of the National Iranian Gas Company, Hamid Reza Iraqi said in a press statement today: “The explosion happened in the Turkish territory and investigations are underway to find out the reason.”
He added: “The gas pumping is turned off for the time being, and will not be reopened until the pipeline repaired that damaged by the blast.”
He added: “The Turkish investigation teams attended to the scene to examine the causes and then informed Iran on the results.”
Iran exports about 10 billion cubic meters of gas to Turkey annually. / End
