Bomb Halts Kirkuk Oil Exports
Wednesday, 29 July, 2015
Turkey’s energy ministry has confirmed that the smaller of the two parallel pipelines from Kirkuk to Ceyhan was sabotaged early on Wednesday in the district of Cizre in Turkey.
Only the 40-inch line was operational at the time of the attack, with the parallel 46-inch line currently idled.
Crude oil exports from northern Iraq have been halted.
Sources told Platts operations would resume later Wednesday.
The line was reported to have been already shut on Monday after thieves attempted to tap the pipeline in southeast Turkey.
