Kirkuk decides to change the name of North Oil Company

Shafaq News / Kirkuk Provincial Council decided on Monday, to change the name of North Oil Company based in the province to Kirkuk Oil Company. A local source told Shafaq News, that the Provincial Council decided based on Article 112 of the Iraqi constitution to change the name of the North Oil Company in Kirkuk Oil Company, adding that the decision came after the control of ISIS terrorist organization on large parts of north and west of Iraq, including areas which the company is working in as it work is limited now in Kirkuk only. The source added that the decision was taken by the majority within the Council, stressing that Arab and Turkmen blocs did not vote in favor of the resolution. The source quoted one of the members that the proposed resolution has been approved by the Ministry of Oil, as a portion of the rights and privileges of the police will go in favor of the Kurds
