Hakim Meets Dutch Ambassador In Baghdad

The head of the Islamic Supreme Council Ammar al-Hakim said Daash terrorist gangs began gradually losing its bases in Iraq and they fell dramatically after the blows directed to them by our armed forces, the popular defense forces, the sons of the tribes and the Peshmerga.
During a meeting with Dutch ambassador, Jean-Juergen Pippen, according to a statement of the Supreme Council, Hakim confirmed “the views are identical about the threat posed by Daash gangs to the international peace and security, stressing the need for a political means as well as military and security solution,” pointing out that “the theme of the National reconciliation must go in two-lane, first by the legislation of laws, and the second by application the government’s program.”
Hakim stressed that the fight against corruption must start from the top of the pyramid down to the base.
For his part, the Dutch ambassador expressed his government’s readiness to provide assistance in the development of the agricultural sector in Iraq depending on the Dutch experience and expertise in this area.
The statement noted that the two sides discussed, during the meeting, a number of topics related to economic and political aspect. / End
