Parliamentary Finance submit a request to provide them with the terms of external borrowing

BAGHDAD / Center Brief for the Iraqi Media Network (IMN) - the parliamentary finance committee said it had submitted a request to the government by the Presidency of the Council of Representatives to provide details of external borrowing and conditions.
The committee member said Jabbar Abdul-Khaliq's (IMN) that "the Finance Committee in the Parliament do not have any information about external borrowing plan, which direct the federal government is seeking to make up the shortfall in fiscal revenue, so the Commission submitted a request to the government to provide it with details of those loans and conditions."
Abdul-Khaliq said that "the Commission will examine the external financial borrowing details and conditions set by the international banks against Iraq, and if the Committee considers any unfair conditions, whether high interest rates or payment mechanisms we will ask the government to reconsider it."
Said Finance Minister Hoshyar Zebari earlier, that Iraq is planning to sell international bonds for the first time in nine years.
