Iraq submitted a request to Russia for providing satellite images of mass graves committed by the former regime.
The Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon in a report during a meeting of the UN Security Council on Monday that "the Iraqi Foreign Ministry waiting for a response from the Russian government regarding its request images via satellite to mass graves dating back to the years 1990 and 1991."
Moon added that "demand will come in Iraq's efforts to search for the remains belong to Kuwaiti citizens were buried in Iraq after the invasion of the former regime of Kuwait in 1990."
The UN Security Council has voted unanimously last June on the transfer of the outstanding issues between Iraq and Kuwait regarding missing Kuwaitis and stolen property to the UN mission to help [UNAMI] under Section VI of the UN Charter, and after that came out of Iraq from the provisions of Chapter VII 27 of the same month.
