Water resources: we will increase water releases to the Euphrates basin

BAGHDAD / Center Brief for the Iraqi Media Network (IMN) - said Minister of Water Resources Mohsen al-Shammari, Saturday that the ministry will increase water releases to the Euphrates basin to address water scarcity and the development of irrigation operations in that region.
He said al-Shammari's (IMN), "The ministry will make the water releases from Haditha Dam of their exclusive competence and in coordination with the security forces and the Ministry of Electricity."
"We will increase the water releases from the dam for the purpose of increasing the production of electric energy in Haditha District", pointing out that for "EP and the crowd and the sons of the great merit tribes in the absence of occurrence of this vital facility in the hands of Daash terrorist gangs".
He pointed to "work to increase imports of water from the Euphrates basin and to develop long-term programs for the development of Allarroaii reality in Iraq."
The Ministry of Health has warned in the 11th of October of this continued low water levels in the Tigris and Euphrates basins for being the cause of epidemics and diseases, which include cholera.
