Emirates receives five Guantanamo detainees

{International: Euphrates News} US authorities transferred on Sunday evening five detainees from Guantanamo Bay in Cuba to the United Arab Emirates, as part of a plan applied by Washington to close the controversial prison.
The Pentagon said in a statement today that "the transfer of these five to remain in the prison located inside the US military base in Cuba, the island of 107 detainees".
He expressed the Pentagon for "gratitude to the United Arab Emirates government on its willingness to support efforts to close the detention center at Guantanamo Bay US efforts."
The US Congress last week refused to transfer Guantanamo detainees in the prison island of Cuba to the United States, to prevent President Barack Obama to close the notorious prison.
Senators voted 91 to 3 out of 100 during the vote on the Defense Act of 2016, which included a renewed restrictions to prevent the use of funds for the transfer of detainees on terrorism charges from Guantanamo prison in Cuba to the US territory.
It is worth mentioning that the House of Representatives voted last week by a majority of 370 votes to 58 against the relocation project Almatkulain.anthy
