Chairman of the Committee of the Regions and the provinces meet the government department responsible in the ESCWA
MP Ismail met Soran Chairman of the Committee of the Regions and governorates not organized province on Saturday 29/4/2017 Ms. Asia Mihi responsible governance in the Department of Organization of the United Nations ESCWA.
The Chairman of the Committee during the meeting, which was held in the House of Representatives, a detailed explanation of the legislative work of the Commission and its role, as well as addressing the Law No. (21) containing the transfer of powers from the central departments to the provinces within the decentralization stipulated in the Constitution.
MP Ismail Soran noted that the Committee had contributed to a significant role in the transfer of powers, adding that the Commission is seeking to hold meetings and the establishment of an expanded conference of all governorates not organized in a region to overcome the obstacles facing the process of the transfer of powers.
For its part, Ms. Asia Mihi expressed its thanks to the meeting with the parliamentary committee and inform them of the nature of its work and findings on the subject of the transfer of powers and decentralization, indicating that the governance team in the Organization of the United Nations ESCWA is ready to provide support and cooperation with the Parliamentary Committee.
