Ata: Iraq Parliament explosion intended to target Prime Minister Maliki

Baghdad Operations Command declared on Friday that two gunmen groups, from Baghdad and Anbar, were behind Iraqi parliament’s explosion. Intelligence information indicated that the car intended to target Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Al Maliki at his arrival to the Parliament, the command assured revealing that investigations are ongoing.
“The explosion near parliament building was caused by a car bomb, in a black 2007 Dodge, launched through a mobile phone,” spokesman of Baghdad Operations Command Quassem Ata told a press conference which Alsumarianews attended in the command’s headquarters. “The explosion was carried out by two groups one from Baghdad and the other from Anbar,” Ata explained.
