Deputy in the Parliament and the Union of Journalists trying to resolve the (gas) law (rights)

MP for the National Alliance Member of the Legal Committee of Parliament Prince Kanani said that the law of the rights of journalists is not the level of ambition, but it meets the minimum work of journalists. The union called on journalists to pay attention to put a proposal to include criminal penalties for institutions that prevent access to the press information.
Said Kanani, "that this law provides the pension rights of journalists if they were exposed to the accidental death or accident injury while working. He added that opening up the real media and the press is to issue another law for journalists, is the law of freedom of access to information and this is found in many countries. The Kanani that there must be penalties imposed on the official authorities in the case of non-cooperation with the journalist, and this requires special legislation so, and must also be a genuine will to build a democratic state and considered as the press and public opinion are the fourth being the mirrors of all that exists in the State of operation and management of which is to reflect that.
He said he hoped the journalists' union to take a step further and made a proposal to draft another law such as the right of access to information laws, or significant in journalistic work. And between a member of the Legal Committee in the Parliament that the law did not put the rights of journalists mechanisms or sanctions in access to information and that any law if it does not include criminal penalties not to mention the benefit of its text.
He continued that we consider this law a first step in the direction of support journalists in their work and the stability of their hard work in Iraq and we hope that there will be more positive steps in the case of legislation of a similar law for journalism. And at the same level of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate revealed a pro-Lami was formed several committees within the legal and professional association to follow up the implementation of the paragraphs of the law of the rights of journalists.
"There are passages have already been implemented and another in the pipeline and that the most important paragraphs that paragraph are carried out on the Elimination of Iraq and the non-press book and cancel any criminal court against any journalist against whom the issue of an opinion or publish."
He said al-Lami, "The journalists' union has agreed with the Ministry of Finance to determine the salaries of the families of martyrs and injured by placing them with a special budget for the year 2012 as well as starting work on the mechanism of calculating service pensions and the addition of service for purposes of promotion, retirement and promotion of journalists.
He said with regard to other items of the law such as the conclusion of contracts between the media organization and its staff union held meetings with lawyers in order to conduct negotiations with the mass media institutions to determine the details of the contract provided for in law, including the press serves and protects the media organization.
It is worth mentioning that the law of the rights of journalists approved by the House and endorsed by the President since shortly to be the impetus for this law, a journalist in his work, and an assistant for his family in a particular case of injury or death while working hard in Iraq.
