The Ministry of Oil announced, on Wednesday, setting the year 2024 as the date for investing all quantities of gas associated with crude oil production operations, amounting to 2,700 million standard cubic feet.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil, Hamed Al-Zobaie, said in an interview seen by / the information /, that "the ministry's plan has been launched since 2015 to invest associated gas in power plants and other industrial plants," noting that
"the investment began to grow from 700 million standard cubic feet in 2015, to reach 1500 million standard cubic feet, and over a period of time, it is considered a huge leap within the dimensions of gas investment globally, due to what the process represents and its need for technology and large and complex facilities.”
Al-Zawba'i added that "the ministry has prepared timetables for Nasiriyah gas projects with a capacity of 200 million standard cubic feet per day, Halfaya in Al-Amarah with a capacity of 300 million standard cubic feet per day, and Artawi gas in Basra with a capacity of 400 million standard cubic feet per day, as well as Artawi Total," noting that it is an achievement.
In these projects, “the ministry will have invested all quantities of associated gas amounting to 2,700 million standard cubic feet, not exceeding the year 2024.”
Regarding the current production, Al-Zobaie explained that “the quantities prepared for power stations and the condensate that comes out of it resulting from the treatment of gas operations is estimated at two thousand standard cubic meters per day, which is exported along with one thousand tons of liquid gas per day, while filling the country’s consumption need.”
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil confirmed that "Oil is making great efforts to reinvest the gas fields of Mansouriya and Cruz, after they were disrupted as a result of the poor security conditions in these two areas previously." finished/25
