Iraq issues arrest warrant for Vice President Hashemi

Iraqi Higher Judicial Council issued, on Monday, an arrest warrant for Iraqi Vice-President Tarek Al Hashemi over terrorism charges and banned him from traveling outside Iraq.
“The judiciary panel of five, formed by the Higher Judicial Council to investigate charges against Vice-President Hashemi’s bodyguards, issued an arrest warrant for Hashemi over terrorism charges and banned him from travelling abroad,” Interior Ministry spokesman Major General Adel Daham told a press conference which Alsumarianews attended.
Interior Ministry displayed, on Monday evening, confessions of Hashemi’s bodyguards assuring that he personally charged them to execute assassinations and bombings in Baghdad in return of money.
Security Forces prevented Hashemi’s plane from taking off while a police source affirmed that Hashemi was asked to hand over the wanted whose names were mentioned in investigations or else legal procedures would be taken, a source told Alsumaria.
