BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi Kurdish region's Premier Barham Saleh called Baghdad politicians to unite ranks against terrorism and defending the Iraqi people in all its components, denouncing the latest explosions that hit Baghdad and Nassiriya, according to a statement.
The statement, received by Aswat al-Iraq, confirmed the necessity of uniting efforts to counter terrorists, protecting the people and containing the present political crisis.
Iraq is moving into a severe political crisis after accusing vice-president Tariq al-Hashimi with terrorism and issuing an arrest warrant against him, in addition to Premier Nouri al-Maliki's decision to demote his deputy Saleh al-Mutlaq, who are both leading members in the Iraqiya bloc.
Sadr and Kadhimia cities in Baghdad and Nassiriya were the targets to a series of explosions that led to 70 killings and 150 wounded among Iraqi pilgrims heading to the holy city of Karbala.
