Washington launched the websites of its consulates in Basra and Erbil and Kirkuk

The U.S. embassy in Baghdad, Tuesday announced the launch of the websites of its consulates in the provinces of Basra and Arbil, Kirkuk, saying it will provide users with information on scholarships, visas and other services.
The embassy said in a statement released today, and got "Alsumaria News", a copy of it, "it was the start of work sites, e-consulates of the U.S. in the provinces of Basra and Erbil and Kirkuk over the Internet, in addition to the Embassy's website," indicating that "these sites will provide information on programs and services provided by the three consulates in Iraq. "
The embassy said that "these sites will provide users with information about scholarships and academic guidance and refugee programs, visas and other consular services," noting that it "will also provide the latest news and developments about U.S. programs in Iraq."
The embassy confirmed that "its Arabic and English, and the consulates of the three sites are in English only, and is preparing to launch Arabic-language sites in the future."
And resides in Iraq three U.S. consulates in the three governorates of Erbil in the Kurdistan region and Kirkuk north of Baghdad and Basra, southern Iraq, in addition to the headquarters of the U.S. Embassy in the fortified Green Zone in downtown.
The United States ended official U.S. presence in Iraq in December of 2011, under the agreement signed between the two countries in 2008, after nine years of its military invasion in 2003, and the overthrow of President Saddam Hussein, a decision of the former U.S. President George W. Bush.
