High-Tawfiq, Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior Region of Kurdistan
Erbil Jan. 18 (PNA) - announced that Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior Region of Kurdistan, that the Ministry is currently a ban on carrying and possession of weapons in the region fully, as he emphasized the Chairman of the Interior Committee of the Parliament of Kurdistan support for the committee to ban the carrying and possession of weapons in the region.
He reported that "the carrying and possession of weapons is a phenomenon that is civil and non-civilized," pointing to "the decline of this phenomenon in the region over the past few years, compared with its predecessors."
Tawfiq said, "The Ministry of Interior has decided to initially ban on carrying and possession of weapons in the region fully beginning of this year," noting that "the Ministry will not grant any new licenses for the carrying and possession of weapons in the region will not renew the licenses that were granted in the past."
For his part, said Chairman of the Interior Committee of the Parliament of Kurdistan Ismail Mahmoud, that "his committee supports the absolute decision of the Ministry of Interior Government of the Territory on the prohibition of carrying and possession of weapons Pkordstan either partially or fully," noting that "despite the fact that the total prohibition of the carrying and possession of weapons in the region would not be feasible, but that the committee supports the work to reduce the phenomenon dramatically. "
