Interior return more than one billion dinars in 2011

Baghdad, January 19 (Rn) - The Iraqi Interior Ministry Thursday it returned more than one billion dinars in the operations part of the investigation of corruption during the past year.
And corruption is a serious problem facing the government, which was occupied during the last years to provide security.
The inspector general of the Interior Turaihi Aqil told the Kurdish news agency (Rn) "WE billion and 305 million Iraqi dinars to the treasury of the state."
He pointed out that 44 auditing body has worked to recover such funds.
The ministry and returned in 2010 to 123 million dinars through 36 of the auditing committee.
He continued, saying Turaihi "level of corruption in this year is the least for the previous years. Was activating the work of the Directorate of inspection of 29 offices linking Baghdad and 15 offices in other provinces."
And an index of corruption for the past few years - issued by Transparency International - Iraq between the world's most corrupt.
