Baghdad (AIN) –The President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, received the head of the Iraqiya Slate Ayad Allawi in Erbil as they discussed the updates of the political process.
Informed source stated to AIN "Barzani received Allawi and the accompanying delegation on Wednesday evening," noting that "Both sides discussed the means of eliminating the current political crisis."
"Both sides discussed the possibility of ending the suspension of the IS members' attendance for the parliament sessions and the cabinet meetings," the statement concluded.
The head of the IS bloc in the parliament, Salman al-Jumaili, in a press conference attended by the reporter of All Iraq news Agency (AIN) on last Wednesday, assured that "The IS renewed its stance of suspending its members' attendance for the parliament sessions and the meetings of the Council of Ministers because the Slate does not receive positive indicators to end suspension."
Earlier, the Iraqiya Slate decided to suspend attendance of its MPs and Ministers for the parliament sessions and cabinet meetings to protest “marginalization and monopolization policies” adopted by the Iraqi government and the arrest warrant issued against VP, Tariq al-Hashimi.
The political process witnesses complicated disputes that coincided with the US troops' withdrawal especially between the Iraqiya Slate and the State of Law Coalition. /End/
