BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraq's President Jalal Talabani has received a phone call in Germany, where is under
treatment of minor operation, from the Shiite Grand Ayatollah, Sheikh Bashir al-Najafi, wishing him good health,
and to return Home, in order to achieve national consensus and end the current political crisis in the country, a
Presidency statement reported on Thursday.
"The Grand Ayatollah had pointed out in his phone call to the vital role of President Talabani in different circumstances,
wishing him quick relief, in order to return Home, where he would actively contribute in the national consensus and to
put an end for the current political differences," the statement, copy of which dropped in Aswat al-Iraq news agency,
stressed.
On his part, the statement pointed out that President Talabani had "expressed gratitude for the Grand Ayatollah
for his contact and his generous feelings, expressing gratitude for the trust, that burdens him with further feeling of
responsibility towards the demands of the Iraqi people, including sacrifices and sincere activity."
