Trade Iraqi parliamentary committee to look on the mechanism of the ration items to buy

Baghdad, February 9 (Rn) - The Iraqi Ministry of Trade said Thursday it has decided to inform the Economic Committee in the Iraqi parliament on the mechanism of buying the ration card items that are distributed to a wide range of citizens, in order to establish transparency in the contracts.
And supports more than 60 per cent of Iraq's approximately 31 million people in the most basic food Itzdon on him by the ration card since the start of the international embargo on Iraq in 1991 after Saddam Hussein's invasion of Kuwait.
The majority of Iraqi cities witnessed a year ago in protest demonstrations to demand better vocabulary ration card, among other demands, calling for the improvement of their reality of living and quality of services provided to them.
The Inspector General of the Ministry of Commerce Mohammed Hussein Al-Wazzan told the Kurdish news agency (Rn) that "the Ministry of Commerce decided to inform the Economic Committee in the House of Representatives of the Iraqi contracting mechanisms with international companies for the supply of the ration card items."
"The level of corruption in the ministry took the decline thanks to the control procedures of the Office of the Inspector General at the ministry, which focuses on conducting engagements in accordance with the assets and standards of integrity and legal."
He pointed out that "the Office of the Inspector General will issue a report later this month when talking about the most important activities for 2011 in the fight against financial and administrative corruption in the departments of the Ministry."
Corruption is a major dilemma facing the Iraqi government, which was busy over the past years to provide security.
The Iraqi government has criticized earlier, reports of Transparency International on corruption and said it is not accurate and are based on information they received through the local and foreign companies failed to implement service projects in Iraq.
And a corruption index of the last few years issued by Transparency International, Iraq among the most corrupt countries in the world.
The Minister of Commerce has recently issued a circular to all Directors-General in the ministry, which prevent them from making statements to the media means.
And demanded that the Economic Committee in the Iraqi parliament, formally, the Ministry of Commerce spokesman of employment for the purpose of facilitating access to business information.
