MISSAN / Aswat al-Iraq: The Trade and Finance Commission in Missan Provincial Council announced intentions to build a 250-megawatt power station, within the petro-dollar scheme.
Nawal Abe Ali said in a statement received by Aswat al-Iraq, that the central government approved the project within the petrodollar allocations for this year.
The project is to substitute the shortage in the power supply in the province, particularly during the summer time.
Missan province lies 390 km south of the capital Baghdad, and suffers continued shortages in power supply; of an estimated requirement of 500 megawatts, only 50 percent is provided.
