Baghdad (AIN) – The head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic
Council, Ammar al-Hakim, discussed with the delegation of the Islamic Cooperation Organization the efforts to activate the items of the document of Mecca which forbids shading the Iraqi blood.
A statement by the SIIC on Tuesday cited “Hakim received the General Director of the political affairs of the ICO, Mahdi Fateh Allah, and the accompanied delegation comprising the ambassador of the ICO to Baghdad, Hamid al-Tani, and the consular of the ICO, Saad al-Taib.”
“Both sides discussed the means of activating the articles of Mecca’s document and the latest updates in the region,” the statement added.
The statement pointed out “Hakim reviewed the current developments of the political process and his visits to the Iraqi provinces,” noting that “The delegation described Hakim’s discussion about one country and one people as comfortable and optimistic to the future of Iraq.”
“Fateh Allah assured the intention of the organization to continue its efforts to settle the crises to achieve the unity of Iraqi in their different components.” The statement mentioned, noting that “The delegation has visited some political parts to chive stability and security in Iraq.” /End/
