Maliki addressed a government committee to search for the fate of the $ 17.5 billion lost after the invasion of Iraq


Baghdad, Iraq, 24 June to June (UPI) - Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki government inquiry headed by his deputy, Nouri Shaways Rose follow a loss of Iraqi funds estimated at more than $ 17 billion have been confiscated, seized or withdrawn from the Development Fund for Iraq after the the U.S. invasion in 2003. Maliki has demanded the said Committee to disclose the fate of these funds as soon as authorized them all the necessary powers to investigate any Iraqi official related to the subject or has information about him without exception. He called in a statement issued by his office on Saturday, Iraqi authorities and the U.S. government to cooperation with and support the Commission with all the necessary work and help in achieving its mission to the fullest. He explained that the guidance "came on the back combines several indicators that show the loss of this money is either forfeited or seized or withdrawn from the Development Fund for Iraq after the fall of the former Iraqi regime in 2003 ". The Commission includes in addition to Shaways: Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari and financial Rafie al-Issawi, Justice Hassan Shammari, as well as the Governor of the Central Bank and the Legal Adviser to the Prime Minister.
