Dubai Australian dairy exporters are hoping to cash in on the growing appetite for cheese among Middle East expatriates.
Warrnambool Cheese, a 122-year-old company, has had a presence in the Middle East for a decade selling ingredients to dairy companies, but it is now hoping to move into the retail arena.
“The market for natural cheese has developed over a period of time so we saw the challenge as right to launch our retail cheese for the export market,” said David Kirwan, sales consultant at Warrnambool Cheese and Butter Factory.
Last year Warrnambool Cheese won the ‘best cheddar in Australia’ award, which has prompted them to spread their wings.
