Baghdad (AIN) –The Premier Nouri al-Maliki visited, on Wednesday, the Rusafa Water Plant and observed the phases accomplished as well as impediments facing completion of the project.
A statement by Maliki’s office cited “the PM Maliki met the officials in charge of the project who briefed him about the latest accomplishments in the project,” noting that “Maliki instructed to speed up accomplishing the project which will provide potable water for Baghdad residents.”
“We are proud of this vital project which is considered among the strategic projects in Iraq,” the statement quoted Maliki as saying.
“We realized that the first phase of the project will be accomplished by the end of 2012,” Maliki added.
Maliki also appreciated the efforts of the engineers and workers as well as administration of the project who achieved this accomplishment, the statement concluded. /End/
