Baghdad (AIN) –MP Ali al-Shallah of the State of law Coalition considered the recent announcements of President Jalal Talabani as a "Polite request directed to the Vice President Tariq al-Hashimi to surrender himself and end the embarrassing situation which he put Kurdistan Region in."

Shallah stated to (AIN) on Wednesday that "Tariq al-Hashimi’s presence in KR embarrassed the region and became part of a problem it had nothing to do with it," asserting that "Al-Hashimi must understand these statements and hints as a polite request from Talabani to give himself up to justice to solve the crisis."

"Both President of the Republic and the presidency of the region announced their opinion about the issue of al-Hashimi to resolve the issue in court away from the political escalation," according to MP Shalah, who noted that "The Presidency of the Parliament did not declare its opinion yet."

"Parliament Speaker Osama Najaifi declared his respect for the arrest warrant that was issued earlier for al-Hashimi," al-Shallah stressed.

Al-Shallah also pointed out that "It is a call for Najaifi to take a brave decision to resolve the issue of al-Hashimi.”

President Jalal Talabani said in an interview with a Kurdish Newspaper, Hawalati, that "They were involved in the issue of Vice President Tariq al-Hashimi," adding that "Sheltering al-Hashimi in KR has two aspects negative and positive, it made Sunni grateful, while Shiites blamed us for sheltering and protecting wanted man."

Talabani said that he "talked with Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and members and president of the parliament about the issue of al-Hashimi, and they asked him to mediate to resolve the issue." /End/
